Training

I've been looking all over the place for things to help me train and couldn't find the right one. My question is what individual training drills should I do that will improve my game the most?

Christian,

That's a question that has lots of answers and is specific to every player. Every player can always work to improve their technical ability no matter which position they play. You need to find which specific attributes make a great player in your position. You can find all that information at Soccer Position Attributes.

After you have found out what it takes to be successful in your position you can then start to work on the parts of your game that need improvement.

No matter which position you play every player needs to have and can always work on their technical ability and foot skills. Whether that's being comfortable on the ball, passing and receiving or ball control every player can raise this part of their game.

The most important thing a player can do to give themselves the best opportunity to be successful on the field is increase their fitness. Running up to 5-6 times a week is a must to become a high level player.

If you wanted to stick to a professional level fitness program then adding this to your routine is a must. This 6 Week Pro Fitness Program will get your fitness up and to the professional level.

Hope this has helped Christian, Best of luck to you.

Professional Foot Skill Workouts

Question/Comment:

What is something i can do with or without a ball to work on my footskill?

Answer:

Derek, being comfortable on the ball and having mastered the fundamentals of the game are a must.

Every player (no matter the position) needs to be compitent with the ball at their feet and needs to continually work on this as time goes on.

Increasing your footskills is not an on today off tomorrow skill. It must be worked on every day and you need to have a ball at your feet day and night.
